So, I’m in AP Biology this year, my last year before college. I only took the class because I didn’t want to take AP Physics. And, plus, the teacher for AP Biology is totally amazing.
But the amount of homework given in this class is just ridiculous. I was proud of myself for a while, because I had managed to stay on top of it and new more than most of the kids in the class. It was the first time in all of high school where I actually managed to READ a textbook AND take notes. Wow!
But, things are definitely going downhill. I am losing control. I can’t get my notes done, ever. I’ve had to read six chapters of this damned textbook in the last week and a half. And, I have like three whole lab write ups / pre-labs / I-don’t-even-know-whats that I have to do. I seriously can’t keep up with it.
There’s no way I’m going to be able to pass this AP Exam. I’m supposed to remember things from all year long, but I can barely keep up with what I “read” two weeks ago.
I don’t even know what the AP test for this subject looks like. Our teacher says she doesn’t want to overwhelm us with a test until we know enough to take a full-fledged practice exam. But I worry we’ll never get there. It’s just TOO MUCH.
Dear college board: YOU’RE RUINING MY LIFE. Sincerely, a kid that wants to drop out of high school sometimes.
